Pensions of self-employed persons

All self-employed persons (and assistants) are entitled to a pension, subject to a number of conditions specific to their social security status. As at 1 January 2009, the statutory pension age for both men and women is 65. However, it is possible to take an early retirement pension from the age of 60, which may or may not be reduced, depending on the number of years you have worked.
