Agreement signed with China for export of live horses

Belgium has just signed an agreement listing the required health conditions for exporting live horses to China.

This agreement is the result of a number of exchanges aiming to promote the excellent health and genetic profile of Belgian horses to the Chinese authorities. The Belgian Horse Confederation (BCP-CBC) worked closely with the Federal Agency for the Safety of the Food Chain (FAVV-AFSCA) to draw up the agreement, which represents an important step in expanding Belgium's potential as an exporter of horses.

With the signature of the agreements on pork in April 2009, pears in October 2010, bovine semen in May 2012 and this most recent agreement on live horses, high-quality Belgian products are taking up a prime position in international trade.
