Brussels in the European top three for wealth created per capita

In 2010, Brussels-Capital Region came third (below only Inner London and the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg) in the ranking of regional Gross Domestic Product (GDP, or wealth created) per capita published by Eurostat, the statistical office of the European Union.
Among the 41 regions that achieved a GDP that was more than 125% of the European average were four Belgian regions: Brussels-Capital Region (223% of the European average), the Province of Antwerp (137%), the Province of Walloon Brabant (131%) and the Province of Flemish Brabant (126%).
