Changes to the Limosa declaration for employed and self-employed workers

Are you a company, organisation or self-employed worker from outside Belgium and do you wish to employ someone in Belgium? Or do you want to work temporarily or partially in Belgium as a self-employed person? Then you must first complete a declaration via the Limosa website. This electronic point of contact considerably simplifies your administrative obligations.

Employed and self-employed workers and interns who come to Belgium to work must declare themselves officially by submitting a Limosa declaration. Some workers are exempt from this mandatory obligation, such as artists, workers in the international transport sector, diplomats, and people participating in scientific congresses.

From 1 July, self-employed workers must once again submit a Limosa declaration. The list of information required from posted self-employed workers and employed workers has been condensed.

Posted employed and self-employed workers who regularly work in Belgium still have the option to submit a single declaration that is valid for 12 months and can be renewed for 12 months at a time.

There is also a new specification for employed workers in the agency work sector and for employed and self-employed workers in the construction sector. However, these sectors are excluded from the single 12-month declaration.

Lastly, there is no longer a time limit for cancelling a Limosa declaration.
